Cupping therapy

Origins and History:

Cupping therapy has its origins recorded in several ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptian, Chinese, Greek and Arab.

In ancient China, the first reports of this technique date back to 300 BC and were described in the medical text "Huangdi Neijing" (The Inner Classic of the Yellow Emperor), one of the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

In ancient Greece, Hippocrates, considered the "Father of Medicine", already mentioned similar suction practices to alleviate various conditions.

Procedure and Effects :

Cupping therapy is based on the application of suction cups to the skin, creating a vacuum that promotes blood circulation, reduces blood stagnation and releases muscle tension.

The cups can be made of glass, bamboo or plastic, and the vacuum is created by heating the air inside or by mechanical suction.

Therapeutic Applications:

Versatile, cupping therapy is applied to relieve back pain, relax muscles, and improve circulation. Additionally, it offers support in the treatment of cellulite and can provide relief from menstrual pain.
